WASHINGTON — Curtis Granderson was a late scratch from the Mets starting lineup for Tuesday morning’s matchup against the Nationals.
This is the third straight game the outfielder was out of the starting lineup with tightness in his right hip.
The Mets were down to an emergency outfielder with T.J. Rivera playing left due to concerns about Yoenis Cespedes’ right hamstring.
The slugger felt a cramp in his leg as he slid to try to make a catch on the final play of Monday night’s 3-2 walkoff loss to the Nationals.
Cespedes isn’t in the lineup but could be available to pinch hit.
