Reddit troll says sorry over Trump’s CNN mock video

The racist internet troll behind a mock video of President Trump body-slamming a man with a CNN logo for a head has issued a mea culpa.

Redditor HanA——Solo posted an apology on Tuesday for the plethora of inflammatory and offensive remarks discovered after Trump tweeted out the video.

The user, who wiped their bigoted history off the chat site Reddit in recent days, called the clip “a prank, nothing more.”

“I am not the person that the media portrays me to be in real life,” they wrote. “I was trolling and posting things to get a reaction from the subs on Reddit.”

Comments and posts disparaging Jews, Muslims, African-Americans and other minority groups made up the majority of HanA——Solo’s past on the site.

Along with liberal use of the N-word, the user once speculated: “Starbucks coffee tests positive for fecal bacteria . . . could it be . . . MUSLIM IMMIGRANT HIRES?”

On Tuesday, the Redditor, remaining anonymous, was remorseful, saying they don’t advocate violence against the press. They also chalked their controversial comments up to a virtual dependency.

“It became an addiction as to how far it could go with the posts that were made,” they wrote, before urging others to seek help if they have a problem.

Trump, who has maintained a long-running crusade against what he calls the “fake news media,” was slammed by CNN, top Democrats and the Anti-Defamation League. Critics accused him of encouraging violence against the press.

HanA——Solo said they initially celebrated Trump’s use of the video, but said in their statement Tuesday that someone else may have edited the clip before it made it on to the President’s Twitter feed.

“I had no idea someone would take it and put sound to it and then have it put up on the President’s Twitter feed,” they wrote.
